Stirrup Crag (Yewbarrow North Top)
Forming the rocky northern bastion of Yewbarrow, Stirrup Crag sits half a mile along the high ridge from the main summit. Guarding the northern descent towards Dore Head, its steep, broken crags provide an exhilarating scramble for walkers traversing the fell line.
Possessing 33 metres of independent topographic prominence from Yewbarrow's southern high point, Stirrup Crag satisfies the criteria for both Hewitt and Nuttall classifications, standing as a distinct mountain top in its own right.

The summit is marked by a bare rocky outcrop on the high ridge. Perched directly above the head of the valley, the high point yields an outstanding, direct view down onto the fields and inn at Wasdale Head, backed by the looming precipices of Great Gable and Kirk Fell.
