Cold Pike Far West Top is a small, beautifully defined subsidiary summit sitting at the furthest tail-end of the undulating Cold Pike plateau. Reaching out into the wild terrain above the Upper Duddon Valley, this quiet outpost sees very few footsteps compared to its larger neighbours. Despite its modest prominence, it rises cleanly enough out of the high moorland bogs to claim an independent listing on the Nuttall register, making it a highly rewarding detour for walkers who enjoy exploring the outermost fringes of the high fells.

The true high point is formed by a neat, compact little dome of outcropping rock, capped by a modest and simple pile of stones. Stopping by this quiet monument rewards you with a wonderful sense of isolation. Turning to look back across the undulating high ground gives a fantastic, clear perspective of Cold Pike's main summit block rising to the east, while the untamed expanses of the surrounding Southern Fells frame the rest of the empty horizon.
