We Have A Winner!

The votes have been counted and it is with immense pride (and a fair proportion of surprise) that I can announce that all the gear but no idea has won the Newbie Outdoor category in Simply Hike's Outdoor Blogger Awards 2015.

So a huge thank you to everyone who voted, whether you are a regular reader or were simply passing by at the time. I think my wife deserves an honourable mention for both putting up with me dashing off to the Lakes nearly every weekend and, more importantly, for persuading me to start writing the blog in the first place so I should probably donate any prizes to her.

Simply Hike Blogger Awards 2015

The outdoor retailer and all-round good guys at Simply Hike have been gracious enough to nominate All The Gear But No Idea for an award in their inaugural Outdoor Blogger Awards. I've been listed amongst some other worthy finalists in the 'Newbie Outdoor' category which kind of sums it all up really.

Two years ago this brain dump of information was a passing thought, conjured up on the rainy summit of Yorkshire's favourite peak, Pen-Y-Ghent. Who would have thought it would have generated over 40,000 hits since then and be nominated for an award? Certainly not me, so it came as a pleasant surprise.
